We’ve finally received official confirmation that Whitchurch Hockey Club has achieved the England Hockey ClubsFirst accreditation.
Most of the preparation work was conducted by Don Nairn over the course of last season, with the final submission and assessment of an Academy training session back around Easter. A huge debt of thanks is owed to Don by everyone involved in the club, all of whom will come to enjoy the benefits of this accreditation both this season and into the future.
The committee’s immediate focus will be to use the accreditation to drive the recruitment of new members and raise the profile of the club within the local area. It will also provide a launch pad for an updated development plan for the hockey club, some areas of which are already being rolled out, including a reduction in match fees and increased travel expenses to make hockey more affordable, and improved levels of communication and presentation of the club through the web site, newsletter, regular updates and new playing strip.
We look forward to sharing more plans with you as we get them underway, but if you want to take part in moving Whitchurch Hockey Club forward, just get in touch with Helen Apperley or Alex Fry.
