Tournament, Tea and AGM
A final reminder about the club AGM which will be happening on Saturday 28th April at the Leisure Centre.
We are holding a friendly mixed tournament for anyone who wants to play – registration from midday with the games starting at 12.30pm.  This will be wrapped up by 2.30pm so that people can change before getting together for tea, sandwiches and cakes at 3pm, and the AGM itself at 3.30pm. (We’ve managed to keep the meeting part down to about 30 minutes for the last few years, which is the plan again this time!) There will be a £5 match fee for the tournament to cover costs.
Any indication of numbers in advance for playing and teas would be very useful, so please reply or text a captain to confirm.  We would also welcome offers to contribute to the sandwiches and cakes, so we put on a good spread.
The tournament was great fun last year so we strongly encourage you to take part and help make it a fantastic club event.
Committee and Club Roles
This is also your opportunity to get more involved in the running of the club – if you would be interested in putting yourself forward for any role on the committee or elsewhere, please let us know and we will get in touch to discuss and make sure you’re included in the nominations.  We also have a vacancy for Ladies 3s captain which we are keen to fill as soon as possible.
Summer Training
Starting from Wednesday 25th April we will be running summer training sessions from 7.00-8.30pm for both juniors and seniors.  These will focus on game play with supplementary coaching exercises, and provide the opportunity to mix players up by ability, and help the juniors integrate with the senior players.  Cost will be £2 per player per session.
This will complement the playing opportunities for Ladies in the new summer league, and for juniors taking part in the Badgers league.
Training Jackets
Those of you who have pre-ordered jackets can now collect them at training or the AGM tournament, once you’ve paid.  (Price is £15, which needs to be provided in cash!)
Coaching Course (Introduction to Hockey / Level 1 equivalent)
We’re pleased to announce that this coaching course will be running at Whitchurch on Saturday 9th June.  We’re still waiting for England Hockey to confirm exact details of times and cost, but if you are interested in helping out with coaching, or improving your own understanding of the game (and you are 16 or over) please let us know if you’d like to participate.
